PE 500SC Centos 4.3 installation hangs formatting hard disk

This problem sounds very similar to one that we had with a certain
video chipset and specifically RHEL 4.3. I can not seem to locate the
bug in redhat  bugzilla, but there should be one concerning anaconda
hanging during the 4.3 install due to certain video chipsets.

If it is the anaconda issue, try using the text install.
