BRU Server 1.2 / RHEL 4 / 2850 and PowerVault 124T w/LTO3 and autoloader.

Anyone actually used this combination?
The BRU guys are saying that the kernel in RHEL 4 is unsupported for
use with the Server because the SCSI layer is too old:

But I really don't want to move to an unsupported kernel just to be
able to back things up. I'm going to try it anyways because it's
1/6th of the cost of the next alternative - but just wanted to hear
if anyone was able to get it to work correctly.
I've already tried Arkeia and still have yet to try BakBone - I'm
only trying to backup the local Linux box and a single networked OS X
server.
