cannot upgrade PERC3/Di firmware

Hi all,

I've a PowerEdge 1650 with a PERC3/Di with firmware 2.8.0.6092 (A10)
running RHEL3 Update 8.

I've downloaded the latest update package
(PE1650_RAID_FRMW_LX_A12.BIN) to upgrade the controller firmware to
version 2.8.1.6098 (A12).

When I execute it, after a couple of minutes, it simply exits w/o any
error message and w/o updating the firmware.

I'm attaching the log of the upgrade process below.

I've also tried upgrading to the intermediate version (A11), same result:
