[OT] PowerConnect 6024 - Layer 3 switches in general

This isn't on topic and I apologize - please pass over if your are
offended.

I purchased one of these PowerConnect 6024 and I am starting to
configure it but I somehow lack a decent overview of what I can
accomplish with this. I have the manuals, have configured the
OOB-ethernet with an IP address and can ping it and can even connect and
configure with a web browser.

Is there some sort of general theory web site for using layer 3 switch
in a corporate environment that someone can refer to me?
