dellmgr equiv for PERC 5/i (SAS based MegaRAID driver)

Yes, the PERC 5's were manufactured by LSI, but they are not standard LSI cards.
As for the differences between the LSI cards and the PERCs (that I am aware of):
PERC 5/E's do not currently support clustering or mixing of protocols in a logical disk, while some of the LSI cards do.
Other than that the cards should have almost identical feature sets.
However, only the PERC 5/E has been certified to support the Dell MD1000 enclosure. So your milage may vary if you switch. It is also important to note that the MD1000 does not support clustering either. Therefore if you want clustering with SAS you will have to use a completely unsupported stack.

This seems to work well for some things.
I noticed that the MegaCLI has many options in it that appear not to be supported by the PERC5/E cards. Does anyone have more details about what is/isn't supported by the PERC5/E cards? It looks like I may have to order LSI 8480E cards to replace the PERC5/E as it appears that clustering is disabled on the PERC5/E.
With MegaCLI you can run 'MegaCli -AdpGetProp ClusterEnable -a1' which returns:
"Adapter 1: Cluster : Disabled"
Running 'MegaCli -AdpSetProp ClusterEnable 1 -a1' does NOT work as expected, and I cannot find any BIOS or OMSA settings to enable it.
Really frustrating since these cards look like they are identical to the LSI 8480E. I guess not all firmware is created equal.

LSILogic has a command line application, MegaCLI available in Linux, Windows and DOS that I have succesfully used with PERC 5/e controllers.
The readme file for MegaCLI - Linux:
