I have a DELL Perc4e/DC LSI MegaRaid 320-2E 256MB (TD977) PCI-E RAID controller

I was interested in updating the Firmware and wanted to FLASH it to the latest update from LSI.

Can I flash LSI firmware over the DELL firmware?

LSI tells me it will wreck the card, is that true or are they playing it safe?

The card looks absolutly identical to the LSI branded card

Andy,
Yes, any software updates to the card should come from Dell. The perc familiy and lsi ultra 320 megaraid products are architectually different. The firmware and drivers are different and could cause irreparable damage to your hardware and operating system if installed. Please, contact dell for further assistance in obtaining the proper software for your product. Thanks.
