Ive been looking around for more information on this but I cant seem to
find anything definite.
I have two PowerEdge 750s with the dual gbit onboard NICs. One system uses
both onboard NICs as well as an additional USR 10/100 card. The other system
is only using one gbit port (eth0). The system using three NICs has no
problems. The system using only one gbit port disconnects randomly but only
when using eth1. These are the onboard NICs:
0000:01:01.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82547GI Gigabit Ethernet
Controller
0000:03:02.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82541GI/PI Gigabit Ethernet
Controller
This is the only indication I get when this happens:
e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex
e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex
e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex
e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex
As I mentioned, this behavior stops when using eth1 so thats what Ive been
using. The other system seems to work when all three ports are in use. Ive
seen some issues like this in other places but again, nothing concrete or
any other solutions. Any info or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben
