I am sorry that I have little knowledge on afacli, and we just faced a
slot 3 HD dead.
Our only raid 5 have initialized 2 "lun", one for system (label
"boot") and one of data (label "data").
container list
Executing: container list
Num Total Oth Chunk Scsi Partition
Label Type Size Ctr Size Usage B:ID:L Offset:Size
----- ------ ------ --- ------ ------- ------ -------------
0 RAID-5 15.0GB 32KB Open 0:00:0 64.0KB:5.00GB
/dev/sda boot 0:01:0 64.0KB:5.00GB
0:02:0 64.0KB:5.00GB
0:03:0 64.0KB:5.00GB
1 RAID-5 35.8GB 32KB Open 0:00:0 5.00GB:11.9GB
/dev/sdb data 0:01:0 5.00GB:11.9GB
0:02:0 5.00GB:11.9GB
0:03:0 5.00GB:11.9GB
I first shutdown the linux and make unplug the dead HD and plug in a
new one. I then boot to the raid controller bios and hope it
re-generate the the new disk.
Both lun rebuild the disk good initially, however, after a while the
system "lun" (label "boot") one got the status to "critical" after
around 5% rebuild. The data "lun" continue to rebuild to ok.
The linux appear to be ok, but the system lun got unprotected as
showed at afacli, as showed as follows:
container list /full

I have tried the above rebuild with another HDs two time. Since the
rebuild of data is quite long....What would be the best bet to
generate the new disk parity of system lun? Please help...
