Greetings again,

Ok got one more step ahead.
Downloaded the following patch
ftp://ftp.lsil.com/pub/linux-megaraid/drivers/version-unified-2.20.0.B2.04.14.2004/megaraid-b2-lk2.6.5.patch.gz

gunzipped and applied it to the FC2 default kernel source.
cd /usr/src/linux-2.6.5-1.358
patch -p1 < /root/megaraid-b2-lk2.6.5.patch
make menuconfig (ensured that I included the module )
Device Drivers ==> SCSI device support ==> SCSI low-level drivers ==>
[*] LSI Logic New Generation RAID Device Drivers
<M> LSI Logic Management Module (New Driver)
<M> LSI Logic MegaRAID Driver (New Driver)

and built the kernel (just did a 'make' and a 'make modules'), sadly
though a megaraid.o and megaraid.ko were created in the
/usr/src/linux-2.6.5-1.358/drivers/scsi/megaraid/ directory, I was
unable to insmod these drivers during a fresh install (FC2 on PE 1850)

I now have 2 PE 1850s (without a clue how to install an OS on them).

If someone can help me here onwards, I'll be really thankful. btw can
someone confirm if I am using the right patch or do I need to use one of
the patches in
ftp://ftp.lsil.com/pub/linux-megaraid/drivers/version-2.20.3.1/

warm regards,
- dhawal

PS: Can the list be changed to prefix [Linux-Poweredge] to the Subject line?
