SATA Drives

We are looking at the PE 400 or PE 420 for about 6 small sites.  Likely run 
Fedora Core 2.  I don't have any experience with SATA drives and am trying 
to find out about reliability, compatibility and ease of working with.  My 
bias has always been servers = SCSI drives.  Are SATA drives viable for 
small servers?  Is the onboard SATA controller in the PE 400 or PE 420 
supported in Fedora Core?    Thank yor for your thoughts.
