Raid controller on PowerEdge 1300 and Debian Linux

Well, yes.

But if the firmware on the controller is older then 1.13 it won't boot. 
There is a severe datacorruption bug in the the pre 1.13 firmware for the 
Perc 2/SC/DC controllers which is why the megaraid driver won't load.
