As per checkpoint the firewall will work with 2.4.18-5.
Are you running checkpoint firewall NG FP3 or NG AI?

I currently have 2.4.18-27.7.xsmp on the 1750, and it supports the
cards very nicely. I think the tg3 driver must have been updated
between those releases, because -5 didn't work for me either, but -27
works like a charm.
