I have just moved my setup to some GX270's.  I use Red Hat 7.2, with
kernel-2.4.20-20.7.  It all just worked, so I imagine just about any
distribution would work.  I don't use X though.  My experience when
using an old X version with modern Intel Video Chipset's is a maze of
pain.  You need X 4.3.
