Hello,

[Dell 2550, Redhat 7.2, controler 3/Di, RAID BIOS 2.7.1, BIOS A08]
[ESM 5.50 PB SB 1.30]

We have a Dell 2550 + RAID 3/Di with :
RAID 1 : 2 * 18 GB
RAID 5: 3 * 36 GB (the RAID 5 is OK)

We had a hardware problem while a rebuild of the RAID 1 was running . After
call Dell, the mother board, the backplane, the daughter card, the memory
cache raid, the activation card has been changed.

The RAID 1 is in state rebuilding (this is the displaying message while
booting, after "controler starting....") but with only 1 disk assigned.

The good disk is the 0:01:0, the missing disk is the 0:00:0.

All the 2 disk raid 1 are seen under the BIOS and under the scsi menu of the
bios raid.

All the diagnostic of the disk are good (menu verify)

With the bios raid, we have:
list of containers:
00 LINUX RAID 1 16,9GB
02 RAID 5 67,8 GB

When we select the raid 1 container and when we do ctrl S to add a disk to the
raid 1 controler, we have a message "no drives present which can be assigned
as failover disk..."

We try to intialize and format the 0:00:0 disk and the problem is the same. We
try to change the disk, it's the same problem. The 2 RAID 1 disks are the
same model (FUJITSU MAM3184MC)

We try to put the disk 1 in the slot 0 and the disk 0 in the slot 1, it's the
same problem.

We try some command under linux:
We try to do "container set failover 0 (0:00:0) under the afacli under linux,
it doesn't work.

                                       1:04:0 64.0KB:33.8GB

It's seem that the good disk (0:01:0) is remained in a strange "rebuilding
state"

What can we do (except backup, recreate the container and restore...) ?

thank for your help,

Best regards,
