Suse 8.1 Kernel not booting on dell PE1650 w. aacraid

we have the following problem:
DELL PE 1650 with the adaptec raid onboard controller.
2 Pentium Processor 1GB RAM, 2 HD 60GB
We got SUSE 8.1 Prof. installed
After Reboot System hangs when loading the aacraid driver.
If we switch kernel mode to single processor mode everything runs well

We like to get the second cpu running now

Anybody has an idea about this?
