Broadcom NICE support (bcm5700/basp)

Hi, I'm trying to configure NIC failover on my 2650 with the bcm5700 and
basp modules. The 2650 ships with two integrated Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet
Adapters on board.

I'm working with RedHat 8.0, and I'm running 2.4.18-14smp kernel. I'm able
to load both modules, and the bcm5700 driver works just fine and I can get
on the network when not using basp.

Then, I get a really strange error when trying to configure basp. The basp
module complains about my NICs not supporting the Broadcom NIC Extensions.
Here's the output from the logfile:

Aug 13 10:45:04 aka02 kernel: Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet Driver bcm5700 with
Broadcom NIC Extension (NICE) ver. 6.2.17 (07/14/03)
Aug 13 10:45:04 aka02 kernel: basp: eth0 does not support Broadcom NIC
Extension (NICE).
Aug 13 10:45:04 aka02 kernel: basp: cannot bind eth0 to team team-tmp
because SLB requires Broadcom NICE support
Aug 13 05:45:04 aka02 kernel: basp: eth1 does not support Broadcom NIC
Extension (NICE).
Aug 13 10:45:04 aka02 kernel: basp: cannot bind eth1 to team team-tmp
because SLB requires Broadcom NICE support

So, first the bcm5700 module loads, where it plainly states NICE is
supported. Then immediately after basp says the NICs don't support it.

Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Michael
