SuSE 8.1 on PE1300 aic7xxx failure

That is normal.  The initial ramdisk doesn't have the program
'/sbin/modprobe', which the kernel 'kmod' is trying to use.  It's a harmless
cosmetic error message.  (Red Hat releases do the same thing, as will all
releases that use an initial ramdisk for loading SCSI drivers.)

I'll let someone with more SuSE experience comment on the rest.
