3GB Thread limit

Any ideas how to get around the 3GB per thread limit in Linux 2.4.18-4?..I have a large process I want to run (4-5 GB), and the 3GB limit doesn't cut it..someone suggested
editing page.h, and change __PAGE_OFFSET 0xC0000000 to 0xE0000000..works OK for a monolithic kernel, but STILL not enough memory (only gives 300-400Mb extra).

--Seems a waste if I have 8GB, and can only access 3..how the heck do those huge linux clusters on x86 get around this?!

Thanks!
