Hi,

We've just started having problems with a PE2650 server running RH Advanced Server (.9 errata kernel).

We performed a reboot recently only to encounter problems with /var on the way back up. The error listed corrupted orphan inodes, and required fsck run manually to correct.

We have also noticed a number of aacraid messages in /var/log/messages, extract follows:
---
Nov 20 12:01:10 dalton kernel: aacraid:ID(0:00:0); Error Event [command:0x28]
Nov 20 12:16:07 dalton kernel: aacraid: <...repeats 3 more times>
Nov 20 12:16:07 dalton kernel: aacraid:ID(0:00:0); Error Event [command:0x2a]
Nov 20 12:24:19 dalton kernel: aacraid: <...repeats 2 more times>
Nov 20 12:24:19 dalton kernel: aacraid:ID(0:00:0); Error Event [command:0x28]
Nov 20 12:32:24 dalton kernel: aacraid: <...repeats 1 more times>
Nov 20 12:32:24 dalton kernel: aacraid:ID(0:00:0); Error Event [command:0x2a]

Nov 20 12:43:18 dalton kernel: aacraid:ID(0:00:0); Error Event [command:0x28]
Nov 20 12:44:08 dalton kernel: aacraid:ID(0:00:0); Error Event [command:0x2a]
Nov 20 13:51:29 dalton kernel: aacraid: <...repeats 2 more times>
Nov 20 13:51:29 dalton kernel: aacraid:ID(0:00:0); Error Event [command:0x28]
Nov 20 14:03:55 dalton kernel: aacraid:ID(0:00:0); Error Event [command:0x2a]

We are using the ROMB PERC 3/Di connected to 4 SCSI disks, configured into two RAID 10 sets.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Or point us towards any help?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Yours,

Ed
