Here is my result with a icp-vortex GDT 6538RD 3 channel ultra 2 wide with 
64MB edo ram without parity 50ns.
it's raid 0 with 3 ibm 7200rpm 60G IC35L060AVVA07-0 and use acard 
ide-to-scsi 40MB/sec adapter then connect each hard disk to one channel. 
sorry. I don't have more hard disks to test raid5, and I don't have time to 
reinstall to raid 5 to test. My os is redhat 7.3 + sgi xfs patch, it means 
sgi's kernel 2.4.18 and xfs file system. AMD 2000xp+ 256MB ram.
the test command is "bonnie++ -s 2000 -u root" I turned off every service when 
I tested it.
