I try to link a 2550 (linux RH 7.1 kernel : 2.4.3 smp support)
with a NAS server

NAS configuration: 10/100 Nic Ip:
Cable cat 5 twisted pairs UTP

this cable is plugged in the broadcom Gigabit NIC of the poweredge
Gigabit NIC configuration : 100 Mb full duplex ip :

the gigabit eth is up
but i can't ping the nas server from the 2550

I can see in /proc stats that the amount of paquets is increasing
but no answer from nas

so I decided to update my bcm5700 driver
after manual update (last tarball) i can see in dmesg

Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet Driver bcm5700 with Broadcom NIC Extension
(NICE) ver. 2.2.30 (08/23/02)
eth0: Broadcom BCM5700 found at mem feb00000, IRQ 17, node addr
eth0: Broadcom BCM5401 Copper transceiver found
eth0: Scatter-gather ON, 64-bit DMA ON, Tx Checksum ON, Rx Checksum ON
bcm5700: eth0 NIC Link is UP, 100 Mbps full duplex

but i all the time can't ping the nas server (no filtering)

any idea is welcome
