i'm using jumbo frames (well i think i am!) on intel 1000T copper
(32bit) gigE cards using Intel's 4.1.7 e1000 driver on redhat
linux 7.2 running 2.4.18-0.22.

the switch is a 3com 6 port copper gigabit one.

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr foo
          inet addr:192.168.X.X Bcast:192.168.X.X Mask:255.255.X.X
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:9000 Metric:1
          RX packets:3902813093 errors:24 dropped:24 overruns:24 frame:0
          TX packets:3902807049 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:2072552064 (1976.5 Mb) TX bytes:1833863044 (1748.9 Mb)
          Interrupt:22 Memory:fe020000-fe040000

the machine is a dell 2450.

all i did was add MTU=9000 to the ifcfg-eth1 script.

i do occassionally get:

sending pkt_too_big to self

but only on the nfs client, not the server.. weird.

cheers,
