hmm, i wish they would release a PE350 with onboard CERC which would make a
much better `low end' product for hardware raid1 using IDE.  

i also wish they would release a "5 ide drive" capable system, so you could
have a unprotected OS drive and 4 protected data drives in one system, though
i guess using all 4 drives as a raid5 setup and then installing OS + data
onto it would be sensible too.

we've had a few drive failures on the 2450 and the onboard hardware RAID1 has
been very nice to have implemented as these machines are colocated remotely.

i'd love to buy a bunch of 350s if i could do hardware raid1 on them - though
i'm contemplating whether linux's software raid1 might be acceptable.  i can't
quite see how it'd work if the primary drive dies though unlike hardware raid..
