Studio 1458 w/Kubuntu 10.04: Orange CD/DVD keys don't work

Hi, All, :)

I've been on an odyssey to get *all* of my new Studio 1458's
multimedia features to work under Kubuntu. Right now, I have the
following working as advertized:

<Fn+F4>: Screen brightness down
<Fn+F5>: Screen brightness up
<Fn+F7>: Mute
<Fn+F8>: Volume Down
<Fn+F9>: Volume Up
<Fn+F10>: Previous Track
<Fn+F11>: Play/Pause
<Fn+F12>: Next Track

Awesome! However, these not so much:

<Fn+F1>: Panel/External Display switch
No action at all. 'xev' shows me this when I use it to monitor my
    keyboard:

KeyPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x4400001,
        root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 62038118, (-676,-244), root:(501,303),
        state 0x0, keycode 133 (keysym 0xffeb, Super_L), same_screen YES,
        XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
        XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
        XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x4400001,
        root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 62038120, (-676,-244), root:(501,303),
        state 0x40, keycode 33 (keysym 0x70, p), same_screen YES,
        XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (70) "p"
        XmbLookupString gives 1 bytes: (70) "p"
        XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyRelease event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x4400001,
        root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 62038192, (-676,-244), root:(501,303),
        state 0x40, keycode 33 (keysym 0x70, p), same_screen YES,
        XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (70) "p"
        XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyRelease event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x4400001,
        root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 62038539, (-676,-244), root:(501,303),
        state 0x40, keycode 133 (keysym 0xffeb, Super_L), same_screen YES,
        XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
        XFilterEvent returns: False

<Fn+F2>: Wireless switch
Correctly turns off the wireless radio, but when I turn it back on,
I can never reconnect to my access point.

<Fn+???>: Eject
This does nothing. Seems to be recognized by X and the name is
    even meaningful:

KeyPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x4400001,
        root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 62161384, (-588,-248), root:(589,299),
        state 0x0, keycode 169 (keysym 0x1008ff2c, XF86Eject), same_screen YES,
        XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
        XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
        XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyRelease event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x4400001,
        root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 62161384, (-588,-248), root:(589,299),
        state 0x0, keycode 169 (keysym 0x1008ff2c, XF86Eject), same_screen YES,
        XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
        XFilterEvent returns: False

But never ejects CD, not from Amarok nor from VLC.

Finally:

The system won't properly sleep when I close the lid. The display
is turned off, but the system never sleeps. In addition, the
display *never* comes back on. ::sigh::

Any ideas on how to get these last niggling problems fixed?

Thanks!
