Dell Mini, wireless, ssh

I am experiencing the symptom discusses in the following thread

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/237894

which talks about ssh connections hanging just before the user prompt
when made over wireless.

One of the solutions, is to run

sudo iwpriv eth1 set_vlanmode 0

and that works, but my question here is how to apply that
automatically at startup or login (and without sudo)

Putting the command in /etc/rc.local does not seem to work, it might
get executed before the wireless gets activated.

Thanks,
Tony Schreiner
