Hi Ian,

thanks for your input. Unfortunately this is one of the things I've
already tried (including using --above instead of --right-of and setting
the virtual screen resolution accordingly), and it doesn't work either.

I also still have that weird blinking every 10 seconds or so on the
external displays (I have tried hooking up different displays to the VGA
output to make sure it's not a bad cable or something, always the same
result).
