No sound after upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04

linux-ubuntu-modules-"yourkernel"-generic will do the trick.
Also a good idea is linux-backports-modules-hardy (do not remember why
at this moment but I know it is good to install)

I have heard of your problem but dont have it myself so can not help much.
