I am mostly worried about the number of writes on the disk. Flash devices
fail after a number of writes to the same block. Sandisk drives are supposed
to alleviate this using wear leveling algorithms but I'm not sure this is
taken care of by the drive itself or there has to be some software/os
intervention. Maybe I should use a flash drive specific file system?

Thanks for the reply (I asked the same questions in the dell linux forum but
it doesn't seem to be as active as this mailing list).
