Linux on SanDisk 32gb SSD

Has anyone installed Linux on a Sandisk 32GB SSD?

Will I need to find and install a driver for it to work?

I read that a driver is needed to enable AHCI when using Windows XP.

I plan to purchase a D830 Latitude notebook and install Ubuntu on it.
