* Port forwarding is the generic term, and one used by

* many home router manufacturers, but D-Link calls it "Virtual
Server".

* Set the public port to 10022 and the private port to 22, private ip

* to the lan ip address of the 390.

* The DI-624 will allow you to connect from inside to the outside

* address, and Comcast routers typically permit this also. Their

* SMC Barricade combo modem-router units will not, but if you're

* using a D-Link, you probably don't have one, just a Motorola or

* similar modem. If you do have a combo unit in front of your 624,

* you need to have it forward 10022 to your 624 on port 1002

Yes, I'm using the "virtual server" feature of the DI-624. I set it up as:

Name:   OracleRAC001 SSHD

Private IP:         192.168.1.105

Protocol:           Both

Private Port:      22

Public Port:       10022

Schedule:          always

I tried it using SSH from http://www.ssh.com <http://www.ssh.com/> , which
works fine when using it all on the same LAN / subnet (192.168.1.x).

An example of the external connection is:

Dell 9300 -> Verizon Cell phone modem -> DI-624 (bmoshier.dnsalias.net) port
10022 -> 390 port 22

Bert.
