Corrupted display when Latitude D620 docked

Hi,

we do have a Dell Latitude D620 notebook which is equipped with the
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M video chipset. Onto this notebook we've installed
RHEL 5. Video output is working fine if the notebook is not docked; on
the internal display and the connected NEC TFT (using the analog
output). However if the notebook is being docked to the port replicator
we only get a corrupted X screen on the NEC LCD (using the digital port
of the port replicator). If we switch back to the text console the
console is initially corrupted, too. After blindly entering the login
credentials on the text console we get a proper prompt in text mode.

We've compared the Xorg log files when docked and not docked and found
only the obvious differences (analog output instead of digital).

We also tried the NVIDIA proprietary drivers but these just create a "No
signal" on the LCD. We've already replaced the port replicator with a
known good one. Didn't help either.

Windows XP is also not showing this issue; i.e. everything works as
expected when the notebook is docked and the display is connected to the
port replicator.

Anyone got any suggestions on what to try else?

Thanks & Kind Regards,
Dirk
