Latitude D620 w/2407wfp

I have the D620 with the intel 945GM and while I was able to get the
screen on the laptop to work at native resolution I have had no luck
getting it to work on my 2407wfp at 1920x1200.  I've read that the intel
drivers are the issue but was wondering if there was a work around?
I've tried a few things but run into a brick wall every time.  

Ideas?
