Paul,

In Windows XP, try giving the new profile admin rights, install the
driver, check for sound, and then restrict the user right back down
again.  The issue might be that the profile will not let required files
be written to the directory, or the registry, with non-admin rights.

I am having a similar problem under windows XP Pro SP@ with audigy sound
card where new user profile will not hear sounds even though old profile
did. Reloading driver did not help. Is there a way to set permissions
for
sounds in Windows?
