Inspiron e1505 and Ricoh SD/MMC problems

I am trying to get my SD/MMC card reader on my e1505 to read MMC
cards. While it reads SD cards just fine, for some really strange
reason it doesn't read MMC cards. I have tried the sdhci drivers, and
the sdricoh_cs drivers someone published out to sf, and neither work
with the MMC cards. There is further discussion in this thread

which concludes that there is nothing we can do without vendor/Ricoh
support as there is nothing apparent.

I plead with all you Dell folks, put ask Ricoh what the heck is going
on and how we can get it to work!
