Dimension E521

Hi everybody

What about Ubuntu oder any other Linux on the E521. I noticed Ubuntu is being offered on a E520 but the E521 is currently being sold with FreeOS (DOS), whatever that might be useful for.
I bought this machine a couple of months ago with Vista installed, but I actually was planning to make it either a multi-boot or a XEN-based machine. Unfortunately none of the Linux versions I tried worked properly.

My questions are as follows:
1. Is it at all possible to run Linux on the E521 as it stands now?
2. If not - will there be / can there be some kind of fix to allow it to work in the near future? (Bios-upgrades, driver upgrades, upgrades of whatever nature)
3. If yes - I would love to know, how!
