Linux Workstations/Desktops

Hello everyone,

I'm the system administrator for a mostly Linux company, where we do
mostly software development. We have about 40-50 workstations running
some flavor of Linux and looking to buy more workstations. I was
wondering what would make a good economical choice for my company. I was
looking at Dell Precision TM Workstations with Linux and those look
reasonable, and I also like the OptiPlex 745. Has anyone has any kind of
experience with these systems? How does Linux behave in these systems?
Would it make more sense to shell out a bit more of money to buy systems
from like penguin computing?

Thanks in advance for any responses.
