I'm not sure I understand you. Typically, the person who logs into X is the person who is
phyically sitting at the machine. This is also typically the person who is next to the speakers,
and so is the only one who wants to hear sounds anyway. This is why X assigns exclusive ownership
of the sound device nodes to this user. However, this ownership should change when the first user
logs out and another user logs in instead. (This is how all previous versions of FC have worked.)

The root user can always write to the device nodes, regardless of who owns them.

Are you saying that the sound device nodes are not having their ownership reassigned whenever a
new user logs into X, or are you trying to scare the logged in user by playing sounds via a remote
login session ;-)?
