LED control on M1730

I forgot to add that the panel control only provides an on/off
capability - so the color concept doesn't really work here. You can set
it to 0 or 1.

So I'm guessing there would be some code cleanup work to really make the
controls work better, but the submitted 'fix' works well enough within
those constraints, and doesn't change the code conformity currently
there.
