Custom DSDT for Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy

Greetings,

I have just purchased a Dell Inspiron 1520 and installed Ubuntu 7.10 release
on it.
When I look at the ACPI details in /proc/acpi I notice that I only have one
thermal zone.
Also the fans are not registering correctly, so when I use i8K I can only
control the left fan, the right fan is not known.

Would creating a custom DSDT fix this problem, or do I have to wait until a
newer BIOS version is release. I have A03 installed too.
