No, you cannot use libsmbios to control the LEDs on PowerEdge servers.
(at least that I know of. I didnt see anything in my reference docs
about it.)
BUT, you can use 1) Dell OpenManage (preferred, recommended), or
2) openipmi to do this.
You can install openmanage from the unofficial Dell yum repository.
http://linux.dell.com/repo/software/ has instructions (and links to the
users guides and such)
If you want to use openipmi, you have to send a raw ipmi command.
Search through the linux-poweredge archives for the details on this.
