PowerEdge server LED displays

Is it possible to use libsmbios to control the text that appears in the
small LED window on the front panel of newer PowerEdge models? More
specifically, the 2850 and 2950. I'm not even sure how those are
controlled or if it would go through bios at all, so this may be a dumb
question. We have quite a few of these servers and it would help if we
could place custom text in those info windows. Any info is greatly
appreciated.
