Are you using GNU make on solaris and GCC? Or are you using solaris make
and cc?

Subject: Build error: Solaris 9 + libsmbios
Hi,
I am trying to compile libsmbios on Solaris 9 (x86
architecture). I have downloaded the older source code version i.e.
libsmbios-0.10.5 and I am getting following error as soon as I start the
build in the main directory.
DEPENDENCIES : supported-bins/assetTag.d
/bin/sh: syntax error at line 1: `BASE=$' unexpected
make: *** [supported-bins/assetTag.d] Error 2
Any ideas what this could be for? Is it that I have to write new
Makefile? Any clues would be appreciated.
Thanks
