Help needed: libsmbios + solaris9

As I mentioned, I have never compiled libsmbios on solaris. If you wish
to take the source and make changes to get it to compile on Solaris, I
will include them in my next release. If you are having problems getting
it to compile, post the error messages to the libsmbios list and I can
attempt to help you get it compiled.

As far as I know, there are no binaires or packages precompiled for
solaris, unless somebody has done this work without telling me.

Thanks a lot Michael for the reply.

Can you please let me know if there is a place to download the
package containing libsmbios libraries for Solaris? I have downloaded
the source code of libsmbios from http://linux.dell.com
<http://linux.dell.com/> but the Makefile there is not able to compile.
Also, there is no configuration file which could be used to generate
Makefile for Solaris.

	Thanks & regards,

	Yes, I do libsmbios.

I have not ever compiled libsmbios for solaris, so I dont know.
I suppose you could just try to compile it natively. I dont know if it
would work, but libsmbios has very few dependencies, so it may work ok.

I do not have access to any machines with solaris on them, so it
would be a bit difficult for me to try it. I would accept patches,
though, if you want to send me anything to make it compile on solaris.

	Hi Michael,

This is Munish from CITTIO and I have a question about
libsmbios. I was told

that you are the one who is behind libsmbios work.

I am using Solaris 9 (x86 architecture) and need to build a
proprietary SNMP

agent. It is asking for libsmbios, libsmbiosxml etc. For linux,
I downloaded

the RPM package called libsmbios-libs-0.12.3-2.rhel3 which gave
me these

	libraries.

Is there any similar package for Solaris 9 (intel's x86
architecture) which

can give me libsmbios, libsmbiosxml libraries?

I would really appreciate any pointers to get these libraries.

	Thanks and regards,

	-munish-
