firmware-tools on SuSE

Hi there,

I've successfully set up firmware-tools on SuSE 10.2 and 10.3. It
required some hacking, though, because for example I had to hunt
down and download/install dell-dup and the inventory collector manually.

I successfully flashed one or two system BIOSes as well, no BMC nor RAID
though (had to use the BIN files for the RAID BIOSes, didn't manage to
update a BMC yet).

I'm writing because I've got an issue with the firmware-tools
repositories. When I add the cross-distro repository, it seems to work
first, but when I launch software management (or just try to install
something), I'll get the following error:

There was an error in the repository initialization.
'Dell_Firmware_cross-distro_1': Valid metadata not found at specified
URL(s)
History:
- ResourceType parse: illegal string value 'other_db'

It looks like the SuSE SW management doesn't handle the other_db
resource type in the repository XML. Is there a way to fix that? I
couldn't find anything via Google nor Novell's bugzilla.

Any hints?

Thanks,

Tino.
