How up to date is the firmware repository?

Thanks for that Michael, It was an out of date local mirror of the
repository. Even although it syncs once a day it had some very old
content in it which it would seem was stopping some of the newer RPM's
from being pulled down.
Thanks
Adam

The repository should be up to date. The latest PERC 5i RPM is:
http://linux.dell.com/repo/firmware/cross-distro/RPMS/noarch/PERC_5_i_Ad
apter_ven_0x1028_dev_0x0015_subven_0x1028_subdev_0x1f02-a07-21.noarch.rp
m
Which is version: v.5.2.1-0066, A07
Can you run "rpm -qa | grep -i perc" and send what you have installed?

Subject: How up to date is the firmware repository?
Hi
I've just installed a new system using the firmware and OMSA
repositories. It's a dell 1950 server with a PERC 5i
I've ran through updating the firmware versions and the latest one
available for the 5i through the repository is 5.1.1-0040, it also pulls
down the latest BIOS package which is 2.2.6.
The bios package is the same as the latest one available from the dell
website and was last updated in February. However the PERC 5i package in
the repo is one revision behind the website, which is strange as the
last update for this was released in Novemeber.
I noticed the problem as because when I deploy OMSA 5.3 (or indeed 5.4)
it lists the controller as being in a degraded state due to the firmware
version:
[root at here ~]# omreport storage controller
Controller PERC 5/i Integrated (Embedded)
Controllers
ID : 0
Status : Non-Critical
Name : PERC 5/i Integrated
Slot ID : Embedded
State : Degraded
Firmware Version : 5.1.1-0040
Minimum Required Firmware Version : 5.2.1-0060
Is there a particular reason that some of the firmware packages are more
out of date than others or is the whole repo just in need of a kick?
Cheers
Adam
