Updating firmware on Dell 1750 - can't seem to detect PERC 4/Di

I've installed all the firmware update repositories/packages on our Dell
Linux servers, and have had success updating the firmware on a set of 1850's
and 2850's. I have an older 1750 that has a PERC 4/Di card in it, and on
that server only the Bios updates were applied, but the PERC controller
updates don't seem to be available (OMSA is saying the the card is in need
of an update).
If I run "bootstrap_firmware -v":
bmc_firmware(ven_0x1028_dev_0x014a)
system_bios(ven_0x1028_dev_0x014a)
and "inventory_firmware -v":
System BIOS for PowerEdge 1750 = a12
I know the up2date tools / update_firmware / firmware repositories rely on
the information these tools produce to then apply the linked RPM packages.
Is there a way to diagnose why the tools aren't finding the PERC 4/Di card?
Do the firmware tools only detect certain types of newer hardare?
