Sadhana,
I would like to see you be in charge of creating and updating the
debian repositories. Can you please rebuild the firmware-* packages and
drop them in /repo/testing/debian. Bump the debian release. I have
created a proposed repo layout (under /repo/software/debian/), but it is
not finalized. If you would like to discuss an alternate layout, let me
know. I have also not actually added the apt metadata for the repos yet.
Create a script under dell-repo/scripts/ to update the apt metadata,
similar to the scripts there for the yum repos.
Please set this up as soon as possible.
You will probably want to set up an x86_64 debian box and look at
using pbuilder to do your builds. Do a 'make deb' and then you can cd
into build/ and run pdebuild with different options to create i386 and
x86_64 builds (for the packages that require separate builds).
At some point you are going to want to make an autobuilder. It
should detect pushes to the master repo and automatically build and push
to the testing/ repository.
Until this is all added to both Ubunutu and Debian, we will need to
keep the dell repos up to date with the latest builds. After we have
added these to Ubuntu and Debian, we can consider dropping these from
our repo.
