Updating system BIOS when running Ubuntu

Sorry for replying to myself, but when running upgrade_firmware it
states that it will not upgrade the firmware.

Checking System BIOS for Vostro 1700 - a01
        Available: system_bios(ven_0x1028_dev_0x0229) - a00
        Did not find a newer package to install that meets all
installation checks.

Which is good, the problem is that apt wants to install the package:
The following packages will be upgraded:
  system-bios-vostro-1700
1 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
