Thanks for you hard work, I just tested it with my Vostro 1700, and
get a little confusing message:
The following NEW packages will be installed:
system-bios-vostro-1700

Need to get 713kB of archives. After unpacking 1208kB will be used.

It looks like it wants to install bios A00 on my system and I have A01
installed from factory (but it's not possible to download A01 from
dell.com website, so I'm not sure why my system has A01)
root at vostro2:/etc/apt# getSystemId
Libsmbios: 0.13.6
System ID: 0x0229
Service Tag: XXXXXXX
Express Service Code: XXXXXXXXXX
Product Name: Vostro 1700
BIOS Version: A01
Vendor: Dell Inc.
Is Dell: 1
My other vostro 1700 have bios A00, so maybe this is OK but looks like
it will downgrade my bios?
