Doesn't seem to work. I have a folder at /usr/share/firmware/lsi/
pci_firmware_ven_0x1000_dev_0x0054_subven_0x1028_subdev_0x1f09_version_a
02 which contains this:

# ls -al
total 272
drwxr-xr-x  2 root root   4096 Aug 28 08:21 .
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root   4096 Aug 27 11:03 ..
- -rw-r--r--  1 root root 183808 Aug  9 20:40 dllsasir.rom
- -rw-r--r--  1 root root    460 Aug  9 20:40 package.ini
- -rw-r--r--  1 root root   8502 Aug  9 20:40 package.xml
- -rw-r--r--  1 root root  22224 Aug 28 08:21 SASDevDiagDiagnostic.log

Running "sas5iradapter" with either just "-a" or with "-a -f /full/
path/to/dllsasir.rom" yields this XML output:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
  <SVMExecution lang="en">
   <Device vendorID="1000" deviceID="0054" subDeviceID="1F09"
subVendorID="1028" bus="2" device="8" function="0" display="Dell SAS
5/iR Adapter Controller 1">
    <Application componentType="FRMW"
version="00.06.50.00.06.06.00.02" display="Dell SAS 5/iR Adapter
Controller 1 Firmware">
     <Package version="(null)"/>
     <SPStatus result="false">
      <Message id="9">The operation failed since the image file was
not found.</Message>
     </SPStatus>
    </Application>
   </Device>
   <SPStatus result = "false">
    <Message id="9">The operation failed since the image file was not
found.</Message>
   </SPStatus>
   <RebootRequired>0</RebootRequired>
</SVMExecution>

Attempting the same with "sas5irint" leads to this output:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
  <SVMExecution lang="en">
  <RebootRequired>0</RebootRequired>
</SVMExecution>

I can't tell if it means success or not.
